- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (115 g) butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150 g) sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- Preheat oven to 180°C.
- Mix flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Mix in food coloring, buttermilk, and vinegar.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients.
- Fill cupcake liners and bake 18–20 minutes until done.
