Classic baked ziti is a comforting Italian-American pasta bake with layers of ziti pasta, marinara sauce, and melted cheese.

Ingredients

  • 300 g ziti pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C
  2. Cook pasta until al dente and drain
  3. Mix pasta with marinara sauce in a bowl
  4. In a baking dish, layer half the pasta, dollops of ricotta, and mozzarella
  5. Add remaining pasta and top with remaining cheeses and Parmesan
  6. Sprinkle Italian seasoning
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden

Notes

  • For a crispier top, broil for the last 2 minutes
  • Let rest 5 minutes before serving
  • Works well with gluten-free pasta
