Description

A flavorful dish combining spicy Cajun shrimp with creamy grits, perfect for a hearty meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup grits
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Stir in grits and reduce heat to low. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Add butter, cream, salt, and pepper to the grits. Stir until smooth and creamy. Keep warm.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  4. Toss shrimp with Cajun seasoning. Add to the skillet and cook for 3 minutes per side.
  5. Serve shrimp over warm grits.

Notes

  • Adjust Cajun seasoning to taste for more or less spice.
  • For extra creaminess, stir in more butter or cream.
  • Fresh shrimp works best, but thawed frozen shrimp can also be used.
