Ingredients

- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup grits
- 4 cups water
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Stir in grits and reduce heat to low. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add butter, cream, salt, and pepper to the grits. Stir until smooth and creamy. Keep warm.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Toss shrimp with Cajun seasoning. Add to the skillet and cook for 3 minutes per side.
- Serve shrimp over warm grits.
Notes
- Adjust Cajun seasoning to taste for more or less spice.
- For extra creaminess, stir in more butter or cream.
- Fresh shrimp works best, but thawed frozen shrimp can also be used.
