- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted.
- Add cooked pasta, shrimp, and basil to the skillet. Toss to coat evenly.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use fresh basil for the best flavor.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to control the spiciness.
- For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
