  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (such as Gruyère or Parmesan)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on the prepared baking sheet and prick it all over with a fork.
  3. Brush the pastry with beaten egg, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the pastry.
  5. Arrange asparagus spears in a single layer on top of the cheese.
