  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp dried herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, or oregano)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm water and olive oil, then knead into a dough.
  3. Let the dough rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and sprinkle cheddar cheese and herbs evenly.
  5. Fold the dough, roll it out again, and cut into strips.
  6. Twist each strip and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Brush with beaten egg.
  8. Bake at 375°F for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
