Description
A festive and spooky 7-layer taco dip recipe decorated with a sour cream spiderweb. Perfect for Halloween parties and ready in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
2 packages taco seasoning, divided
8 oz cream cheese, softened
16 oz sour cream, divided
1 can green chilies (4 oz)
1 jar thick and chunky salsa (15 oz)
1 ¼ cup shredded taco cheese, divided
1 cup guacamole
1 roma tomato, diced
1 green onion, sliced
2 tbsp sliced black olives
Instructions
1. Choose your dish. A 9-inch pie plate works best, but you can also use a square dish, platter, or bowl.
2. Blend cream cheese, 1 cup sour cream, and 1 package taco seasoning until smooth. Spread in bottom.
3. Brown ground beef until cooked through, drain, and stir in the second package of taco seasoning (no water). Spread over the first layer. (Or substitute refried beans.)
4. Spread diced green chilies evenly over the meat.
5. Spread salsa across chilies.
6. Sprinkle 1 cup shredded cheese.
7. Spread guacamole evenly over cheese.
8. Spread or pipe 1 cup sour cream in a spiderweb pattern across the top.
9. Sprinkle diced tomato, green onion, remaining cheese, and olives around the edges. Decorate with plastic spiders if desired. Serve with tortilla chips.
Notes
You can substitute beans for beef to make this vegetarian.
Chill before serving for cleaner layers.
Use thick salsa to avoid watery layers.
Best served fresh but keeps in the fridge up to 3 days.
