Ingredients

Scale

16 ounces milk chocolate chips

2 tablespoons shortening

Toothpicks

1 pound fresh strawberries with leaves

Optional: white chocolate drizzle, sprinkles, chopped nuts, frosting bows, hearts, or Halloween-themed toppers

Instructions

1. Gather all ingredients.

2. Melt chocolate and shortening in a double boiler, stirring occasionally until smooth.

3. Insert toothpicks into the tops (stem ends) of strawberries. Hold a strawberry by the toothpick and dip it into the chocolate mixture.

4. Turn the strawberry upside down and insert the toothpick into a Styrofoam block or place on waxed paper; allow chocolate coating to cool.

5. Repeat with remaining strawberries.

6. Decorate with white chocolate drizzle, sprinkles, or frosting decorations as desired.

7. Enjoy your Halloween Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries!

Notes

Use fresh, dry strawberries to prevent chocolate from seizing.

For glossy chocolate, add a small amount of shortening while melting.

Chill dipped strawberries in the fridge for faster setting.

Decorate creatively with sprinkles, frosting, or edible toppers.
