Description

A sweet and savory tart combining fresh figs and honey for a delicious dessert.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 34 tbsp ice water
  • 810 fresh figs, halved
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  3. Add ice water, 1 tbsp at a time, until dough forms.
  4. Roll out dough and press into a tart pan. Chill for 30 minutes.
  5. Prick the crust with a fork and bake for 15 minutes.
  6. Arrange fig halves on the crust.
  7. Drizzle with honey, lemon juice, and vanilla.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
  9. Cool before serving.

Notes

  • Use ripe figs for the best flavor.
  • For a crispier crust, blind bake it before adding the figs.
  • Replace honey with maple syrup for a different taste.
