Description
DIY Kool-Aid Candy Ropes are chewy, colorful, and full of fruity flavor. This easy homemade recipe turns your favorite Kool-Aid flavor into a nostalgic candy treat.
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup sugar
1 packet Kool-Aid (any flavor)
1 tablespoon butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Optional: food coloring (for more intense color)
Instructions
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the flour, corn syrup, sugar, Kool-Aid, butter, and salt. Stir well to combine.
2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, for about 5–7 minutes until thick and dough-like.
3. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly. Knead for 3–4 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. Roll the dough into small, thin ropes. Use flour if needed to reduce stickiness.
5. Place the ropes on parchment paper and let cool completely at room temperature for 1–2 hours.
6. Once firm, serve and enjoy! Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
