Rich and creamy Dark Chocolate Halloween Gelato with candy corn crunch – the ultimate festive frozen dessert.
2 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
¾ cup sugar
6 large egg yolks
½ cup dark cocoa powder
4 oz dark chocolate, chopped
1 tsp vanilla
Pinch salt
1 cup candy corn, chopped
1. Heat milk, cream, and half the sugar until steaming.
2. Whisk yolks with remaining sugar until pale.
3. Temper yolks with hot milk, return to saucepan, cook until thick.
4. Whisk in cocoa, chocolate, vanilla, and salt.
5. Chill for at least 4 hours.
6. Churn in ice cream maker.
7. Fold in candy corn.
8. Serve with extra candy corn.
Chill base overnight for best results.
Use Dutch cocoa for richer flavor.
