Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  4. Alternate adding dry ingredients and sour cream to the butter mixture. Stir in hot water.
  5. Pour batter into the loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let cool before slicing.
