Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups (280 g) flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup (170 g) melted butter
  • 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) sugar
  • 1 egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (340 g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  2. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk melted butter with sugars until smooth.
  4. Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla.
  5. Stir in dry ingredients until combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  8. Scoop onto baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set and centers remain soft.
  9. Cool before serving.

  • Chilling the dough helps prevent spreading.
  • For extra chewiness, slightly underbake.
