Bold, sweet, spicy, and buttery Cajun Hot Honey Shrimp is a one-pan dish loaded with garlic, thyme, lemon, and sticky hot honey glaze. Ready in under 30 minutes!

Ingredients

  • lbs raw jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1½ tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 tbsp salted butter
  • 34 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme (or 2 tsp dried)
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon

For the Hot Honey Sauce:

  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp salted butter
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Kosher salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat shrimp dry and toss with Cajun seasoning and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add shrimp and sear for 2 minutes per side until pink.
  4. Stir in 4 tbsp butter, garlic, thyme, and lemon zest.
  5. Cook for 1–2 more minutes, until garlic turns golden.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice.
  7. In a small saucepan, melt honey with 2 tbsp butter, cayenne, chili powder, paprika, and a pinch of salt.
  8. Drizzle the hot honey sauce over the shrimp before serving.
  9. Optional: Top with flaky salt. Serve over polenta, rice, or with crusty bread.

Notes

Adjust cayenne pepper to reduce or increase spice level.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days.
