Apple crumb bread is a cozy homemade loaf made with chopped apples, cinnamon spice, and a buttery crumb topping, finished with a maple glaze. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.

3 tablespoons sugar

3 tablespoons brown sugar

1/2 cup plus 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

3/4 cups sugar

2 large eggs

1 cup milk

1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup peeled, chopped apples

1 cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon milk

1 tablespoon maple syrup

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

2. Mix crumb topping ingredients until clumpy and set aside.

3. Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.

4. In another bowl, mix sugar, eggs, and melted butter, then add milk and vanilla.

5. Combine wet and dry mixtures gently until just combined.

6. Fold in the chopped apples.

7. Scoop batter into pan and smooth the top.

8. Sprinkle crumb topping and lightly press into batter.

9. Bake for 45–55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

10. Let loaf cool completely in pan.

11. Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over cooled bread.

12. Let glaze set, then slice and serve.

Notes

Best served fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container for 3–4 days.

Use any firm apple variety like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith.

You can freeze it for up to 2 months (unglazed).
